FMM - Kind of Girly EditionEasy Weight Loss

Oh how the mighty have fallen.  I'm not quite sure how this happened, but somehow Paco ended up on the floor while Henry was sleeping on Jeff the other night:
This is so unusual, not only for floor Paco but also because Henry almost never lays with us on the couch.  On the bed, yes - but normally he's too skittish when he's out in the open like this.  Either he was bold, tired, or a combination of both, but it was funny to see Paco on the floor like that.

I've been going great guns with my knitting and finally got those ding dang socks cast on.  I ended up using a size 3 needle for the cast on and then switched to my usual size 1.5 for the rest of the socks.  I've also had a couple of hats commissioned by my friend Erica - I made her one a couple of years ago and she's requested two more, in different colors.  I am so glad she liked the original hat enough to want more!

I also knit myself a hat:

Pattern is Wurm, yarn is Malabrigo Arroyo in Azules colorway.

I wanted a slouchy hat for times when I'll be wearing it all day - hopefully it won't completely smash my hair flat.  It's slouchy in these pictures but I was conservative when I blocked it; I'm considering reblocking it and getting a little more slouch out of it (the magic of wool is, well, magical).  It was an easy pattern to follow, however each band has five purl rows and purling isn't my favorite thing to do - but it was worth it in the end.

I think I've finally come up with some eyeshadow colors that work nicely with my skin tone and eye color:
Left to right:  Strawberry macaroon, Sweet candy, Lazy afternoon - all by Sephora at a reasonable price of $8 each.

I kept trying purples and blues and grays and tans and never had an easy time getting them to look nice without being too heavy and dark - I'm so pale that anything with pigment really intensifies on me.  But these work and I don't have to be super careful or precise about the application; despite watching many make up tutorials on You Tube, the truth is that I am more of a slap it on and call it finished person.
See?  It works nicely for a subtle, everyday look.

Also, you're welcome for the lovely flat hair shot - I'd already run that morning and showered, but didn't do my hair because I was going to my workout group that afternoon, so it was a why bother situation.  But hey, how fun is that dramatic background?  Studio light in selfie portrait mode...I get a lot of entertainment out of my iPhone camera, that's for sure.

Have a great weekend!
