Yesterday we reviewed my standing exercises, and then she gave me a new one called the Cat Stance Two Step. I actually got it well enough that we moved on to the next part, which was a little more confusing - not hard, just a brain processing thing - so I asked Amanda to video me while talking me through it. Eventually I did it right, but at first I went the wrong direction:
"Bend your knee and twist toward the straight leg. No, the other leg. The straight one."
Hey, at least I can laugh at my mistakes, which is a good thing since I make a lot.

Workout update: Due to Jared's traveling, I had a make up session on Monday. I did some arm work using 5 pound dumbbells for my shoulders and 12 pound dumbbells for my arms when my back was in a more supported position. I don't have an ego when it comes to how much weight I can press or whatever, but I thought it was funny to see the difference. And, my shoulder muscles were sore the next day, so I'm glad I only used the 5 pound dumbbells.
I like that Jared always asks what I've been working on in PT and what is hard for me, and then he'll come up with something to do that utilizes a similar stance or effort. For example, I'm working on the rocking pigeon, which has me go from sitting on a chair to standing up on one leg, with the other leg crossed over the standing leg's knee. Oh and I have to be in zero spine while I do it. Well, Jared had me do a one legged thing from a standing position, focusing on driving my foot down to force my body upward. Get this - the next day at PT I did the best rocking pigeon's I've ever done. I am so pleased to be getting all of these body mechanic lessons from two people because between the both of them, my brain has a better chance of making the connection and doing the PT exercise correctly.
Some of us weren't quite ready for the fun to end, so we went for second breakfast:
Our pool party was so much fun. I hope everyone is on board to do it again soon now that we have the perfect summer clubhouse!

Running update: What, running??!! Well no, not me. But our running club had a longstanding dream come true on Saturday. For years, after so many hot summer runs where everyone would be laying on the ground, wiped out from the heat and humidity, we'd all talk about jumping in a pool at the end of a run - just take off your shoes and jump in, ahhhhh.
Well, we now have a summer clubhouse, in the form of Cindy's community pool, so a party was planned. I mapped a route to the pool and on Saturday morning, our runners were off on an adventure to a new place! Jimmy and I first went to McDonald's for coffee and then to Starbucks for a traveler of coffee. You can never have too much coffee:
Cary went to get breakfast tacos, and we all made it to the pool shortly before the first runners arrived:

It was a coffee bonanza!

Some people chose to eat first, but they did not wait an hour to swim, haha.
Pregnant mama needs her breakfast! I was very talented at catching a lot of the Renegades with a mouthful of food but I won't post those pictures because I want to live.
The Renegade Run Club's dream come true!
A sunrise swim with good friends and coffee - what more could I want?
Mason and Logan had a blast!
Eventually we left, packing people into cars to get back to the clubhouse. Even the ride back was fun!
Some of us weren't quite ready for the fun to end, so we went for second breakfast:
Yes, at Blue Baker - where else would we go?
