When You Stare at Something For a MonthEasy Weight Loss

...you make changes.  Case in point?  The shelving units on either side of the fireplace in the family room.  There was nothing wrong with them; it's just that I've been staring at them for too long while I lie on the couch, waiting out my herniated disc.

The left side, which is the side I see the most from my couch vantage point, used to look like this, more or less:
I like all the stuff, but it was a little cluttered.  PLUS I NEEDED A CHANGE.

Now it looks like this:
It's so calming with all of the blue...ahhh.  The blue theme came together pretty easily because I already had everything except for the large teardrop vase on the right of the top shelf - I picked that up at Crate and Barrel when we were in NC recently.

The right side was a lot more cluttered:
As I was moving things around, I happened upon a centerpiece theme for the dining room table - I'm still working on it but you know I'll post a picture when I'm finished!

Now it looks like this:
I had a harder time finding enough green pieces to fill this side up, and it's still a work in progress, but I'm getting there!

This was fun.  And tiring, sad to say.  I can only last a little while standing and moving around before my leg starts to hurt really badly and then it's couch time.  But every time I laid on the couch to rest my leg, I got another chance to look as the shelves and plan more changes for the next time I felt good enough to move around again.

And that, class, is how I (mostly) spent my weekend.  Anybody have more exciting things to report for your weekend?
