Backtrack to Monday - it got cold here. There was a strong north wind howling all day - seriously, it was howling! The temperature kept dropping and it was predicted to be around 32 degrees with a feels like temp of 24 degrees at our normal running time on Tuesday, so Diane and I decided to not run. Turns out Jeff and his crew didn't run either - if it was just cold, we all probably would have run, but that wind was making for a bitterly cold morning. It was too cold - yes I answered my question.
I was awake yesterday morning, checking the weather app from the comfort of my bed, when I saw that snow was in the immediate forecast. Of course I had to jump out of bed, throw on some clothes, and go wait for the snow. Sure enough, it came! Now don't laugh - this is very unusual for us in November, much less at all, even though lately it does seem like we get some snow each year. Here's a picture of the accumulation:
Quite the combination - fallen leaves from autumn with snow from winter.
It melted pretty quickly, but the wind kept blowing and it was just plain freezing all day. I did go to my workout at BCS Fitness yesterday afternoon and boy howdy, that was a cold walk from my car to the gym! I was happy to be there and get back to my normal workout routine, even knowing that I'd have an even colder walk back to my car when I was finished, thanks to being sweaty.
Side note: I tripped over my own two feet during a warm up exercise and fell down. Seriously, WTH? I didn't hurt myself but good god, I feel like I'll be needing that Life Alert necklace in the very near future!
