FMM - ArtEasy Weight Loss

Reader Susan, fellow sufferer of heat and humidity because she lives in Florida (I feel your pain, Susan), asked for some close up shots of the large painting we moved to our entry area.  Happy to oblige - it's interesting and depending on what color the wall is painted, different colors pop.

Backstory is that my Grandmother bought this back in the early 70s - the artist is Helen Lake Smith, and other than the fact that my Grandmother was living in southern California when she bought it, we really don't know anything more about the painting or the artist.  And that's a shame as I like to know a little background about an original art piece and the artist who created it.  There's no title to this piece, but I've always called it the fork painting, because, well, you'll see:
See how it looks like a fork was dragged through the paint?
Also, not to state the obvious, but this looks like a fork to me.
My brother saw a snake in it, which I never connected, but there you go - everyone can see something different in abstract art.

There was a gathering of Mini cars on Wednesday at the museum where my parents volunteer.  They sent me several pictures, but the cutest was this:
A Mini police car!  It's the K-9 unit, which ups the awww factor even more.

Have a great weekend!
