FMM - Kinda Embarrassed, But Kinda Not...Easy Weight Loss

I've never been one of those runners who has a stack of new-in-box shoes ready and waiting in my closet.  I don't suffer by not replacing my shoes when they are worn, but if I have two pairs that I can rotate then I feel pretty lucky.  That said, my all-time favorite running shoe is the Hoka Clifton 1 and nothing has ever come close to my liking since I bought my first pair in 2014, so when Hoka brought back that model last fall I happily bought a pair and they were as good as I remembered them.  I was hoping this would be a permanent thing but apparently not so; instead, the shoes started to hit the mark-down section without a new crop of colors introduced.  That makes me sad.  I bought a pair when they were first marked down and have been saving them until I hit the halfway point in mileage with my current pair.  Last week Running Warehouse put them on clearance plus they added a 15% discount via Facebook (I just checked, it's not valid anymore), so I went ahead and ordered more shoes - I mean, I love them and they were less than half price so it made sense, except that I don't normally do this.  So I'm kinda embarrassed to show you this:

But I'm kinda not embarrassed.  I've got enough running shoes to get me through next year, so at least I'm set, and overall the money I've spent wasn't nearly what it could have been.  But seriously, who am I with a shoe store in my closet?

FO Friday:  It's another cable baby hat - the tried-and-true pattern that I've made several times, and every parent who's received it says it's the best for staying on a newborn's head:

Pattern is Cable Baby, yarn is Malabrigo Rios, colorway Azul Profundo, with a splash of Madelinetosh DK, colorway Citrus.

This blue is hard to capture, but basically it's both shades in these pictures, depending on the lighting.

I made this hat for Diane's grandbaby who is due to arrive in May - I picked the blue because it's pretty, and liked the orange to go with it, and then I discovered that these are the colors of her son and daughter-in-law's alma mater, so it was perfect!

Paco had surgery 10 days ago to remove the lump on his foot that kept getting infected.  He's doing well with his recovery and we are hoping that once this heals and the stitches are out, he will be able to be cone-free.  Poor dog has been living in a cone all the time except for when he's sitting with us, because he just could not leave that foot alone and licked it into a bad stage.  About a week after surgery I knew he was feeling more like himself as he decided everything needed barking at - squirrels? BARK  Garbage truck?  BARK BARK  Leaf falling?  BARK  Good to know he's back on duty!  I took the cone off to take this picture but you can tell he knows it's going right back on:
